Dr. Miles and his wife Tina founded Justin's Lighthouse in 2007, following the accidental overdose death of Justin (Dr. Miles' younger brother).
After years of questioning the main stream addiction-treatment models across the country, wondering 'how can an addict seek help from drug rehab facilities but then die 2 weeks after graduating'?
What they found out is that traditional addiction treatment centers aren't designed for people
to succeed. They are set-up to bill insurance companies tens of thousands of dollars, per client, without regard for any responsibility for those same clients to succeed.
Truth is, 90% of patients graduating a traditional drug rehab do not leave with the necessary skills, cognitive change, or even, a stronger sense of self, to go out into the world and thrive. This is why most addicts fail after rehab.
